GENESEE AREA FACTS
Clipper Brand products are sourced from farms in and around Genesee, Idaho. This small corner of the northwest United States includes the states of Idaho and Washington. Each year, this area is responsible for nearly 80 percent of the edible peas and lentils produced in the U.S.; over 250,000 metric tons of pulses.
Pulses require a unique combination of soil, moisture and climate.
The dry summer days, cool nights and nutrient-rich volcanic soil found in this area create the high-quality, quick-cooking and uniform pulses that customers have come to expect of Clipper Brand products.

The parent company of Clipper Brand is Genesee Union Warehouse Cooperative. First organized in 1909, Genesee Union is one of the largest, most diversified cooperatives in the Pacific Northwest. It is 100% farmer owned and boasts 200 farmer members, many stretching back for generations.
CLIPPER BRAND QUALITY FROM FIELD TO TABLE
At Clipper Brand, full product quality control starts even before the seeds are planted.
We work closely with all of our growers to ensure their crops are of the highest quality. We assist our growers by educating them on optimal crop production and management techniques. More importantly, we sponsor research studies to keep new plant diseases to a minimum and to develop new crop varieties, although all Clipper Brand pulses are Non-GMO (Non-Genetically Modified Organisms)
After harvest, the crops are processed and stored in Clipper's state of-the-art storage facilities, which currently hold 165,000 metric tons of peas, lentils, chickpeas and mustard.
We tightly monitor our processing to guarantee that we meet grading specifications provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as well as our customers' stringent requirements.
